Rocket Day '97
Back to the Rocket Page,
We had a rocket day in March, 1997.  First, we had to make the rockets, pack the chutes, and all that! We painted them and then blasted the rockets off!

The parachutes were hard to pack. Mr. Roemer graded us on them - if the chute didn't open or opened wrong, we lost points.

It was fun painting the rockets, except the paint wouldn't come off our hands.

We wrote books about Rocket Day for the 1st graders. They were our rocket buddies and got to launch with us!

We gave the 1st graders a multimedia lesson on rockets.

We showed the 1st graders all about rockets. They really loved it!

Rocket Day finally came. We had to wait while others launched their rockets! Only two of our launch pads worked.

We didn't get any pictures of the rockets launching, but they did go off!! Many of us caught our rockets. A few rockets flew off to who knows where! Here's two of us getting the launch pad ready.
